The Ridiculous art of Li Wei
Photo Manipulation | April 2nd, 2010
Li Wei: a contemporary artist from Beijing. His work often depicts him in apparently gravity-defying situations. Wei started off his performance series ‘Mirroring’ and later on took off attention with his ‘Falls’ series which shows the artist with his head and chest embedded into the ground. His work is a mixture of performance art and photography that creates illusions of a sometimes dangerous reality. Li Wei states that these images are not computer montages and works with the help of props such as mirror, metal wires, scaffolding and acrobatics.

I have not seen too many people use photoshop in such a great way. Most of his scenes look realistically set up, I’m assuming most of his photography is set up the way you see it, but he uses photoshop to edit out supporting surfaces and wires (which exist to keep him alive and what not)
Here is some of his work, you can see MANY more on his website: http://www.liweiart.com/
